Halloween heralds a host of hilarity!

This year at our Halloween Safe House we hosted a group of over 70 trick-or-treaters. The residents came out donning costumes, goodies, and games for all the children to enjoy. It was a delight to watch the residents entertain the children. If one would have to say who was having the most fun…the residents…or the kids…it […]

Bob and Barbara Tice talk about their decision to move to a retirement community.

“I think it relieves you of a lot of worries and responsibilities in maintaining your own home and I think it keeps you active here and the fact that you’re eating with different people in the dining room, you’re socializing more and if you were in your own home I think you would tend to […]

Dorothy Erickson talks about her decision to move to a retirement community.

…I had a once-in-a-lifetime issue with blood pressure so I saw the doctor and he said I couldn’t live alone anymore. I didn’t agree with him but my daughter had heard from a friend that lives up Lee’s Summit about this place, about The Fountains, and she brought me immediately here and I rented an […]

Blaze-Off’s Pork Pullin Plowboys Opens Restaurant

Our annual Fountains Blaze-Off and Senior Q has been immortalized. One of our two time grand champs, Pork Pullin Plowboys, has opened a restaurant on South 7 Highway, and we’re on their wall of fame. Out and About: Crown Center and John Lennon Art Exhibit

Last week we ventured out into the city to visit Crown Center and enjoy a lunch at the Street Car Named Desire. Following lunch we ventured out into Crown Center and saw many things along the way. We enjoyed a variety of fare from sheppards pie, Scotch eggs, a traditional English breakfast, and some other delicious […]

Fishing Trip to Blue Springs Lake

We had a great time fishing at Blue Springs Lake. The Residents were anxiously waiting to dip their poles in the water, but unfortunately not too many fish were fooled by our lines. We caught some small blue gill and crappie, but “nothing to write home about,” said Resident Chuck Couch. Even if there wasn’t […]

Reviews Review – Good location and reputation.

The fountains have a good location and reputation. My mother in law had been there for a while two years ago, so I was familiar with the location. It’s a great, fantastic facility, and my mother feels very secure and comfortable there. Communication has been great; they provide alert necklaces, and she was able to […]
