Residents enjoyed a recent class called Love Catchers with volunteer Julie Clark, who originally started making these crafts with her mother-in-law (and resident), Pat Westman. The idea behind the love catchers is taken from the Native American design work of Dreamcatchers, but instead of catching dreams, they are a unique self-expressive art form for displaying mementos, pictures, ephemera, and things of individual interests. Residents Corrine Hartnett and Corky Link designed love catchers that incorporated their name and musical symbols for their “love” of music. The end result was beautiful and a great expressive art class for the residents to make something that speaks from the heart! The love catchers have been catching love all around the community! Wonderful work ladies!
