This past Saturday in acknowledgement for Earth Day some of our residents decided to put the “green” in Greenbriar! We ventured out to Burr Oak Woods Nature Center in Blue Springs, Missouri to participate in a fun Earth Day project making paper with recycled paper pulp and sprinkling native wildflower seeds into the paper. Upon completion of our project we will be planting our recycled paper this coming fall to grow three species of wildflowers next spring. This was a fun day to be creative and give back to the Earth. Our end goal for the wildflowers is to help restore healthy populations of pollinating insects that rely on these beautiful wildflowers. After our fun activity we took a mile and half walk on the nature trail where we got to bask in the beauty of the sunshine and blooming nature. It was a great way to spend our Earth Day engaging with the Earth in a positive way.
