The Greenbriar gang ventured to the Country Club Christian Church in Kansas City to tour the church, but in part to see the tucked away artistry of Italian born, and local Kansas Citian, Dominic Zappia and his life-sized sculpture of “The Last Supper” by Leonardo DaVinci. This impressive and monumental sculpture was breathtaking to see in person. It was a real piece of art mastery and done in the Kansas City area, but entirely unknown to most locals. We had a special and rare tour on a beautiful Saturday morning. The docent took us to this tucked away treasure to see what some people haven’t seen publicly exhibited since its debut in the 1964 New York Worlds Fair. The residents were awestruck at the skill and vision of the artist. They all agreed that it was on par with some of the master works of Michelangelo himself. We would all recommend that you take a tour and see for yourself. You wont be disappointed! Very timely in light of the coming Passover Holiday.
