Oompa loompa doopidy-doo…I’ve got another story for you! Every year we host a candy safe house for resident’s and associate’s families, as well as for the community at large. Each year kids come and go after collecting their candy, but they don’t really stick around very long to spend time with their grandparents. In the past we have seen a reoccurring theme of kids coming and smashing-dashing away with their candy, but not really staying around to spend time with the grandparents. This year we decided to do it a little differently! We gave them a million fun-fantastic-fanciful-frenzy-filled reasons to stay and spend some time with their grandparents. If Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory doesn’t do it…I don’t know what would! The kids and grandparents were delighted to have some quality time together crafting, playing, and having fun! The kids were having so much fun that the parents had to remind them how late it was getting, but for the grandparents that was a good problem to have! The night was a smashing hit with children, grandparents, and family. It appears as though we have started a new tradition for Greenbriar! The safe house creates a safe environment for the children to play and have fun with family. Moreover, the experience created opportunities for family to come together to play, imagine, create, share memories, and love on one another, which in my opinion made our night of “pure imagination,” purely successful!
